March 1 - 2, Saturday 10 am til 9 pm - Sunday noon til 6 pm.
Fur Rendezvous Garden Clinic - Master Gardeners and the Cooperative Extension Service will be at a booth in the Dimond Center in the hallway in front of the Old Navy Store to answer questions. Printed gardening information is available from the CES and a sign-up sheet for anyone interested in the the fall Master Gardener class will be there.

Anchorage Garden Club:  Plants from East Europe   Rita Jo Shoultz from Fritz Creek Gardens will talk about new plants from a trip she took to Europe.

ARGS presentation Harry Jans "Plant Hunting on the Roof of the World" (Tibet); UAA Grant Hall Lecture Room, Anchorage;  7:30 p.m. ($10 donation to help pay for the hall)
Alaska Rock Garden Society presents Harry Jans, founding member of the Dutch Rock Garden Society & 6 year president; member of 4 AGS Expeditions including ACE 1994, SQAE 2000, Iran Expedition 2003 & Tibet 2005.  AGS Tour leader to various provinces in China in 1997, 1998, 2001 & 2006, Tibet 2005, Etiopia & Kenya in 2006.  He organized & led tours to China, Italy, Holland, Germany, England, Scotland, USA & Canada.  His topis while in Alaska will include "Growing Alpines in the hills of Holland" and "Plant Hunting on the Roof of the World" (Tibet).  To learn more about Mr. Jans go to www.jansalpines.com

2 Days of classes and lectures discussing topics about gardening in Zones 2, 3, 4; Guest speakers include International gardening experts and authors Cisco Morris, Larry Hodgson, and Sara Williams. Optional Post Conference Open Garden Tours. Garden Market located in Atrium,   20+ Select vendors showcasing garden gadgets & ‘must haves’ for your garden life will be outside conference rooms, open to the public.

Anchorage Garden Club: Lobelia Basket Workshop - Learn how to make a lobelia basket similar to the ones the Municipality puts up downtown. All materials are provided and you go home with a completed basket. Download the registration form from the document section. Anchorage Garden Club: Alaska Garden Clubs State Convention -  The Alaska Garden Clubs will hold the annual convention in the Mat-Su Valley. State clubs' members will gather for a weekend of garden touring, educational events along with the election of the new state officers who will take office in 2009. The National Garden Club's president will be attendng as well as the Pacific Regional Director. Location: Mat-Su Valley Additional Dates: Sunday July 20th 2008
